About Adriana

Adriana Escobar Correa - Bilingual Licensed Clinical Therapist at Honor Your Emotions

EMOTIONS ARE NOT MEANT TO HARM YOU.

So, when they do…How do you cope?

Depression, anxiety, sadness, stress, low self-esteem, fear, loneliness, and confusion are just a few emotions that will prevent you from getting through a regular day.

In fact, it’ll make even the smallest task feel like the troubles of the world were placed on your shoulders.

I mean these emotions seem like dream stealers and peace killers.

Not to mention those beliefs that your life was destined for misery.

And let’s not even begin to discuss the struggles of the world when you do not look like the images in the media.

When the aroma of your food is embedded in the walls of your home, and your heavy accent causes people to minimize your intelligence.

How about the frustration that takes place between you, your family, in-laws, children, and community because you’re struggling to find balance between maintaining the cultural values and adapting to your new surroundings.

And then feeling like a failure because you think, you’re doing everything wrong.

Or perhaps, you simply feel misunderstand or unsupported by the people around you.

But here’s the thing.  Beliefs are not always facts! And emotions do not dictate the final outcome!

I know this to be true personally, because I too, am not cut from the same cloth as most people around me.
