About Jonathan

Jonathan Anyaogu - Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist Associate at Honor Your Emotions

You feel defeated, like you’ve lost a battle.

Even though, you’ve done everything you can think of to feel better.

You tackle one issue and then another emerges. One day things are finally heading in the right direction, the next day it feels like it is absolutely falling apart!

Especially when you are a misunderstood man of color often viewed negatively due to the color of your skin.

What’s going on?!

You feel misunderstood and you have no idea how to communicate your needs.

All of the expectations of being a man or woman, a husband or wife, father or mother, a child and student… none of it really fits who you are.

You’re worried, sad, and even scared that your best is not good enough.

OR worse…you believe you’re failing in every area of your life.

The poor eating habits, your declining health, the unhealthy relationships, your unhappy marriage or partner, work stress, feelings of abandonment, academic failures, or experiences of loneliness and isolation.

Simply put, you are a mess and you don’t know what to do.

Now, let me help you figure that out.

I’m Jonathan Anyaogu, a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (License # 121531) with over 5 years of experience in the mental health field, who specializes in counseling with males, young adults, adults, couples, and the LGBTQ community.

I can help you navigate through trauma, depression, anxiety, stress, confusion, low self-esteem, relational frustrations, marital issues, or any kind of life transition with confidence, compassion, and courage to become mentally stable, healthy, and happy.

Helping clients find healthy solutions to their problems and live a stress free, peaceful, and joyful life is the favorite part of my job.

SPECIALTIES:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Couple’s therapy, Talk therapy, and Trauma treatment.

I’m a Black man who understands some people prefer to work with a therapist of color or of the same sex. If you’re specifically looking for a black therapist and/or male therapist, I’m happy to help.
