Group Therapy sessions provides many advantages for participants.

It provides you the opportunity to see that you’re not alone in your struggles, as other participants in the group will have similar experiences as you.

Your feeling of isolation or abnormality will drastically decrease as group counseling will provide a space of validation and understanding in a non-judgmental atmosphere.

Group therapy is a great place to practice and improve your interpersonal and social skills. It’s very common for individuals dealing with mental health issues to experience difficulty in their relationships.

Group work will help to learn healthy ways of communicating…

…resolving differences, and gain an understanding of others points of view.

Group sessions can be even more powerful than individual work with a counselor, because you’ll receive support from more than one source. This is one of the primary advantages of group counseling.

The group facilitator encourages members to offer feedback, suggestions, and support throughout the session. The support of multiple people can be quite effective in motivating change and validating feelings.

Group therapy sessions are typically more cost effective.

And they usually have a specific end date of treatment.

Unlike individual therapy, participants in group counseling are usually aware of the time commitment prior to the start of the group.

This anxiety group applies to a variety of anxiety disorders such as: panic disorder, agoraphobia, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and generalized anxiety disorder.

This will be a closed CBT anxiety group; therefore, new people can only join at the start of a new group.

The group meets Wednesdays from 7:00pm to 8:30pm at Honor Your Emotions 6904 Village Pkwy Dublin, CA 94568.

The cost is $400 for 8 weeks. The maximum number of participants will not exceed 10 total group members. Some insurance is accepted. Please email or call Tangia Hardy directly for other financial considerations.

During this time, you’ll learn how to:

  • Utilize scientifically proven techniques and cognitive behavioral skills to manage your anxiety in a healthy way.
  • Discover your core beliefs and values that creates anxiety.
  • Understand how your anxiety is being triggered.
  • Discuss and identify how to challenge/eliminate unwanted thoughts and negative self-talk that lead to anxiety.
  • Develop healthy coping skills to prevent, decrease, or eliminate your worry.
