Relaxation is defined as the following:
- “the state of being free from tension and anxiety”
- “recreation of equilibrium following disturbance”
- “the loss of tension in a part of the body . . .”
- “the action of making the rule or restriction less strict”
It’s the first point I want to focus on for this edition of Honor Your Emotions the blog–
“The state of being free from tension and anxiety”.
What tension are you currently experiencing? What is restricting your ability to engage in true relaxation?
Unfortunately many of us have looming voices in our mind that seem to fight our ability to truly relax in the ease and flow of life. Life brings personal accountability, financial responsibility, family obligations and external pressures to meet the demands of the market place. Amidst this daily environment, let’s call it New York City, it can be difficult to relax. True relaxation, let’s call it Hawaii, seems difficult to achieve in hectic NYC.
Where is your mind, body and spirit? Do you know how to relax, escape and surrender your mind, body and spirit to Hawaii? Or are you stuck in the hustle and bustle of New York City? Is your mind, body and spirit stuck in a state of being that mirrors the city that never sleeps? If so, here is a tip to help you mentally escape New York City and enter into a Hawaii state of mind of relaxation and peace.
Drain It – Flush
On your next bathroom break, take those looming pressure-filled busy thoughts and imagine you’re flushing them down the toilet. Then gather a picture of “paradise” in your mind. Hold that image for a minute. Actively flush out your busy thoughts in exchange of thoughts of relaxation.
