About Brenda

Brenda Montogomery-Telfor - Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist Associate at Honor Your Emotions

Attempting to be the best version of yourself is exhausting.

…the world places so much expectations on you regardless of where you are in life.

As a child, there’s an expectation to do good in school, follow rules, and respect your elders. As a teen, there’s the added extra pressure of trying to fit in with your friends, be popular, and base your life around the standards of social media.

And as an adult, you continue to struggle with all of these things in addition to raising a family, paying bills, maintaining connections to the people you love, staying in good health, hold down a lucrative career, and meet other societal standards.

With all of these expectations…

Is it even possible to feel at peace at any stage of life?

The entire concept of keeping up with the jones’s has everyone feeling overwhelmed, worried, lethargic, sad, and simply depleted.

Running on fumes is an understatement. Yet we continue to spend so much time just waiting to feel better.

The feelings of inadequacy as you watch your child’s mood go up and down like a rollercoaster. The constant arguing with your spouse, broken family relationships, and sleepless nights.

You don’t understand it or know how to make things better.

Or worse…feeling like you want to give up and walk away from it all.

Maybe you’re questioning if God is punishing you for something you did or didn’t do.

But don’t feel hopeless! Positive change is always possible!
