Life is kind of like a fruit tree.

What has the ability to:

  • build homes
  • provide shelter
  • can generate heat when joined together
  • influence the environment
  • + remove toxins out of the air and produce fruit

Two answers:

  • Trees, fruit trees
  • A human life

So how does this apply to you? Hold your seat belt, I’m getting to that —

Fruit trees are trees that produce flowers. Those flowers produce fruit, aka evidence of ripened ovaries or flowers containing one or more seeds.

Okay GROWN FOLK talk. . . (you’ve been warned)

Life tip: Ironically the female body also contains ovaries and the male body seeds. When these two combine their flower produces fruit.

We can learn a lot from fruit trees.

Yes every tree that does not produce good fruit will be chopped down and thrown into the fire

Luke 3:9

The above quote complicates this notion by classifying fruit trees as good fruit and bad fruit.

For the sake of this article, I want you to think of your life as sweet fruit or rotten fruit.

How does one have a rotten or sweet life? Is it in the things you own? Is it in your job? Is it in your finances? Is it in your financial freedom? Is it in the size of your home? Is it in your education? Is it in the quality of your marriage? Your children? Or is it your marital status?

Pro Tip: I suggest to you a rotten or sweet life is all qualified in your thought life.

Just like a fruit tree, you can produce sweet or rotten thoughts that truly run or ruin your life. And just like in nature when you are dealing with an infected tree, your first sign of the infection is often rotten fruit.

How do you know if your fruit is rotten? Rotten fruit (like thoughts) usually smell, contain unwanted and uninvited pest, appear bruised externally, are hollow, discolored, often fall to the ground or have been on the ground for some time.

Pro tip: If you bite into your piece of fruit (aka your attitude, outlook or thoughts) and can’t tell there are rotten other people (co-workers, family, partners, customers etc.) will collectively inform you.

The evidence of rotten fruit is always a good sign that something is off with your tree trunk and roots.

Pro tip: Before that virus spreads to your garden, it’s best to chop down that rotten tree as a way to save your garden.

Do you feel hollow? Are you bruised? Have you felt like you’ve dropped to the ground?

Pro tip: In life rotten fruit, the result of your daily outcomes and attitudes toward situations and people in life are often signs of faulty roots or infected thought-life.

Life Tip: Did you know that your thoughts actually produce cluster-like structures in your mind and those clusters don’t know the difference between positive or negative thoughts?

Now your body does have chemical reactions to the emotions tied to your thoughts. But that’s another post.

Pro Tip: Whatever thoughts you rehearse repeatedly they become actual structures of thought.

So control your thoughts, manage your fruit production. Infected trees don’t produce sweet fruit and healthy trees don’t produce rotten fruit.

You can produce healthy fruit.

You can live a life that gives life to all those around it, just like healthy trees give us humans oxygen. You can give life. It starts with what you think and say to yourself.

So think well and speak well.
